Dhaka, Bangladesh – 14 May 2025 — The Centre of Excellence for Leather Skill Bangladesh Limited (COEL) and Axis Meta Limited have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the implementation of The BRIDGE Program (Bridging Skills for Relevant Industry Development and Gainful Employment) in the Leather sector—marking a significant step forward in closing the skills gap and promoting sustainable employment in one of Bangladesh’s high-potential industries.
The BRIDGE Program is a transformative initiative designed to equip youth and job seekers with market-relevant skills and facilitate guaranteed job placements. With a structured training-to-employment model, the program is driven by strong industry partnerships and a commitment to developing a skilled and job-ready workforce. This program is following German Dual Mode Training system. This agreement start Bangladesh’s First Commercially implimenting this training system.
Under the agreement, COEL and Axis Meta Limited will jointly implement the following key components of the BRIDGE Program:

Comprehensive training delivery including classroom and industry-based training.

Strategic marketing and onboarding of learners.

Joint assessment and certification of trainees.

Immediate job placement support for successful candidates.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, representatives from both organizations emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing the skills mismatch and promoting inclusive growth in Bangladesh’s leather industry.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Mominul Ahsan, Chief Executive Officer of COEL, and Khan Mohammad Mahmud Hasan, Executive Director of Axis Meta Limited, officially signed the agreement, expressing their shared commitment to workforce development in Bangladesh’s leather sector.
The BRIDGE Program promises to set a new standard for workforce development in Bangladesh, and today’s MoU marks the beginning of an impactful journey for many aspiring professionals in the leather industry.

BRIDGE প্রোগ্রাম একটি রূপান্তরমূলক উদ্যোগ যা তরুণ ও কর্মপ্রত্যাশীদের জন্য বাজারচাহিদাসম্পন্ন দক্ষতা প্রদান এবং নিশ্চিত কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করতে পরিকল্পিত। প্রোগ্রামটি জার্মান ডুয়াল মডেল প্রশিক্ষণ পদ্ধতি অনুসরণে গঠিত, যার মাধ্যমে প্রশিক্ষণার্থীরা এক মাসের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক প্রশিক্ষণের পাশাপাশি দুই মাসের শিল্প-ভিত্তিক অনুশীলনের সুযোগ পাবে। উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে, এই সমঝোতা স্মারকের মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশে প্রথমবারের মতো এই প্রশিক্ষণ পদ্ধতি বাণিজ্যিকভাবে বাস্তবায়ন হতে যাচ্ছে।

স্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠানে উভয় প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিনিধিরা বলেন, বাংলাদেশের চামড়া শিল্পে দক্ষতার ঘাটতি মোকাবেলায় এবং অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক প্রবৃদ্ধি অর্জনে আন্তঃখাত সহযোগিতার গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম।
অনুষ্ঠানে, COEL-এর প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা (CEO) মো. মোমিনুল আহসান এবং অ্যাক্সিস মেটা লিমিটেড-এর নির্বাহী পরিচালক খান মোহাম্মদ মাহমুদ হাসান আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষর করেন এবং বাংলাদেশের চামড়া শিল্পে দক্ষতা উন্নয়নে তাদের যৌথ অঙ্গীকার পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেন।
BRIDGE প্রোগ্রাম বাংলাদেশের কর্মসংস্থান খাতে একটি নতুন দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করবে বলে প্রত্যাশা করা হচ্ছে। আজকের এই সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরের মাধ্যমে চামড়া শিল্পে আগ্রহী তরুণদের জন্য একটি গঠনমূলক ও কার্যকর যাত্রার সূচনা হলো।
